Free Home Energy Audits
Ceiling Insulation 80% Grants up to $400, full grants (up to $500) to those who qualify. Available to both homeowners and renters. Insulation up to R38 installed.
The City’s Energy Efficient Loan Program offers loans at 5% interest. These include energy efficient electric heat pumps, gas furnaces and combination appliances, air conditioning, solar PV and solar water heating, natural gas dryers and ranges. Energy Star refrigerators, Energy Star windows and 19 other energy-savings measures may also be eligible for these loans.
Rebates: Available for most residential natural gas appliances. If replacing electric, the rebate is $700 for a gas furnace and $675 for a gas water heater.
If replacing natural gas, the rebate is $350 for a gas furnace and $300 for a gas water heater.
Rebates are also available for energy efficient refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers, air conditioners, air source heat pumps, closed loop water source heat pumps and heat pump water heaters and even natural gas fireplace logs.
Grants are available to eligible low income customers of up to $500 for hot water leak repair, AC duct repair, AC coil cleaning and AC refrigerant leak repair.
Free solar dryers! Remember, there is no energy star approval rating for any home dryer–electric or gas. Florida law prohibits any homeowner’s association or group from preventing anyone from installing a clothes line in one’s yard.Contact the City Utilities at 850.891.4968 or talgov.com/you

I am curious to know whether an on demand hot water heater would be considered green and if there are any incentives for purchasing an on demand hot water heater.
Currently, the City of Tallahassee offers a $675 rebate only on tankless (on-demand) water heaters powered by natural gas.
