Free Home Energy Audits
Ceiling Insulation 80% Grants up to $400, full grants (up to $500) to those who qualify. Available to both homeowners and renters.
Energy efficient home heating appliances are eligible for the City’s rebates as well as financing through the City’s Energy Efficient Loan Program at 5% interest.
Energy Star Refrigerators, a $75 rebate and a $40 rebate for Energy Star Freezers
Energy Star Clothes Washers, a $100 rebate.
Natural gas tank-style water heater, a $675 rebate.
Natural gas tankless water heater, a $675 rebate.
‘Hydroheat, or gas combination appliance that heat water as we as your home, a $1,375 rebate.
Natural gas furnace, a $700 rebate if replacing your central electric or propane heating.
Higher energy efficient electric heat pump, a $100 or $350 rebate.
Free solar dryers! Remember, there is no energy star approval rating for any home dryer–electric or gas. Florida law prohibits any homeowner’s association or group from preventing anyone from installing a clothes line in one’s yard.

I am curious to know whether an on demand hot water heater would be considered green and if there are any incentives for purchasing an on demand hot water heater.
Currently, the City of Tallahassee offers a $675 rebate only on tankless (on-demand) water heaters powered by natural gas.
