A reader recently asked about joining an effort to ban plastic bags in Tallahassee. As you may know, the Florida Legislature prevented localities from banning plastic bags, mandating that the ban be statewide, not something that a municipality or county could do on its own, as has been done in California. So, either the law has to be repealed, or a statewide action has to take place to ban plastic single use bags in retail store.
