TALLAHASSEE'S SUSTAINABILITY PLAN

Big Bend Sierra Club sponsors at program on Thursday, June 21 beginning at 6:30 PM at the Leon County Main Library, 200 West Park Ave in rooms A&B.

City staff from the Department of Environmental Policy and Energy Resources will present the Tallahassee GreenPrint – a roadmap to a sustainable future.

The City's proposed sustainability plan is a non-regulatory planning document that proposes a strategic framework for the City to further advance its goal of becoming a more livable, sustainable community. The plan was developed with the guidance of the Environmental Advisory Board, an appointed citizen board— individuals, subject area experts and various stakeholder groups.

Citizen input obtained through focus groups, online feedback and community open house events also influenced the development of the plan. The City also continues to present the plan and receive feedback from community groups.

The City can take further action within City government and in the community through collaboration with various community partners and stakeholders in eight broad target areas: Leadership, Education and Community Outreach, Health, Economics, Natural Resources, Energy, Solid Waste, and Land Development/Mobility.

The public is invited to learn, ask questions and make comments.
