A few days ago, I mentioned what Leon County schools were doing to green their schools. Principals for Change just left for a walk from their homes in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania to Washington, DC by June 13th. They want to motivate people to take a stand and be a part of the energy crisis solution, raise awareness for the need for alternative fuels and alternative fuel research, as well as improving daily energy efficiency. They are setting an example for all the students in their schools.
In addition, they want to form a non-profit that would provide grant money to teachers for "green projects."
A local car dealer has donated a Toyota Highlander Hybrid to serve as the official "chase car." The high school has been working on a project to provide cooking oil to fuel a 1984 Mercedes diesel. The Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Educators has been "teaching green" for a number of years.
