According to the Florida Marlins, their game against the Tampa Bay
Rays (until 2007, known as the Devil Rays--their namesake member of
the Manta Ray family) was the first carbon neutral baseball game in
the southeast.
The carbon generated by players and fans will be offset by investments
in reforestation projects through carbonfund.org. (The Marlins lost
the first of three home games against the Rays 4 - 6)
No word on whether players, owners or managers will also attend the
2008 Summit on Global Change also taking place in Miami beginning
today.
