Just in case you haven't ordered your car that runs on air and must pull up to the pump as I did and (gulp) pay $3.11 per gallon for regular gas, you may be interested in the release of the newest list of the top "green cars" from the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy's environmental guide to ranking cars and trucks.

- TOYOTA PRIUS Hybrid 1.5-liter in-line 4, automatic transmission
- HONDA CIVIC HYBRID Hybrid 1.3-liter in-line 4, automatic transmission
- SMART FORTWO 1-liter 3-cylinder, automatic transmission*
- TOYOTA YARIS 1.5-liter in-line 4, manual transmission
- NISSAN ALTIMA HYBRID† Hybrid 2.5-liter in-line 4, automatic transmission
Voted the most environmentally damaging was the VW Touareg DI† 5-liter diesel V-10, automatic transmission, 4-wheel drive, beating out even the Hummer H2, which came in at 9th place on the worst list.
*The Smart forTwo is not available, yet in the US, but for $99, you can reserve your place in line to purchase your tiny car, which is manufactured in France. The dealer
closest to Tallahassee is in Jacksonville (basic models start at $11,590 and go up to $16,590 so you can have less roof).
