Recently, I sent a comment to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's office regarding their green lodging designation program for hotels. I noted during a recent stay at Orlando's Florida Hotel that, although a container was provided in my guest room for recycling, (total contents from me = one water bottle) there were no such containers available in the conference's cavernous meeting rooms. Hotel catering provided over 300 in attendance with bottled water and soft drinks over the three days I was there, but all empties were deposited into the general waste container.
So far, no reply for the folks in the green lodging office.
