Compressed air is "an energy vector that can be used, in a viable way, to transport both people and goods" according to Air Car Factories.
autobloggreen recently discussed the details of the air-car with a top-speed at 68 mph, and a range of up to 186 miles. The idea is that tanks containing compressed air can be refilled at special stations, or used on board the car with an electric compressor, giving three to four hours of drive time. It's reported that it will be made by Tata Motors who recently unveiled the Nano, the People's Car, the world's cheapest car at about $2500 American.
